Poet Hill

Samuel Mark is the Managing Partner and Co-Chief Investment Officer of Poet Hill, responsible for the firm's investment strategy, portfolio construction, and capital allocation. He also serves as a Partner and lead Portfolio Manager at Poetic Group, Poet Hill's affiliated investment manager, where he has spent the past eight years advising and managing prior investment vehicles. During his tenure, Mr. Mark has transacted on more than $2 billion of RMBS and ABS across a wide range of collateral types and capital structures. He has also played a key role in developing credit activist strategies across dozens of RMBS trusts. Earlier in his career, he traded special-situation and credit-sensitive residential mortgage securities at two securitized-products-focused broker-dealers. Mr. Mark holds a B.S. degree from Cornell University.

Jackson Nurmi is a Partner and Co-Chief Investment Officer at Poet Hill. Prior to joining Poet Hill, Mr. Nurmi co-founded Approve Lending, a technology-enabled auto refinance lender, and continues to play a role guiding the firm's strategy and key initiatives. Previously, he managed a structured products portfolio for a family office. Earlier in his career, Mr. Nurmi spent over a decade (2008–2021) at Good Hill Partners, ultimately as a Senior Managing Director responsible for all asset-backed, residential, and consumer-related investments. He has developed credit and investment models for an expansive set of assets in public and private markets and has executed numerous bespoke ABS transactions. Mr. Nurmi holds a B.S. degree from Columbia University School of Engineering and Applied Science.

Seth Cohn is the Chief Compliance Officer and Head of Operations at Poet Hill, where he oversees the firm's compliance program, operational infrastructure, and financing activities. Prior to joining Poet Hill, Mr. Cohn served as Head of Operations at StormHarbour Securities, where he led firmwide initiatives across operations, technology, and compliance. Mr. Cohn holds a B.A. degree from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

Adam Berkowitz is a founding member of Poet Hill with experience across structured credit, real estate, and opportunistic investing. He managed multiple private equity-style fund and family office vehicles focused on non-agency RMBS with vintage years from 2011–2016. Previously, he worked in portfolio management at High Rise Capital Management and in opportunistic real estate investing at Argent Ventures. He began his career as a real estate investment banker at Lazard, advising public real estate companies on M&A and large-scale asset sales. Mr. Berkowitz holds a B.A. in Economics and Philosophy from the University of Pennsylvania, an M.A. in Philosophy from the University of Cambridge (Queens' College), an M.A. in Real Estate Finance from NYU, and a J.D. from NYU School of Law.
